Mug Again

I had another day in jail today. As I sat at this computer, having a listen to Jobim, I saw in the reflection of a mirror, a flashlight. At the door rapped a sheriff, two, from the warrants division.

Apparently it had been known since last night by my attorney, who called my dad, who called my sister, who called my mom. So the calls went, San Antonio, New York, Corpus Christi, San Antonio. And to me, who was being protected from needless worry, I was made to answer my bedroom door, when knocked on by two strangers in uniform.

So I saw the orange uniforms today, but bailed out before I had to put one on. I was served a turkey sandwich, twice, with cookies and an orange drink carton. I never ate. I smelled the laxitive after effect smell of the jail, and heard the familiar rantings about nothingness and useless laws. I saw poverty, again, and desperation.

In any case, I was led out by Sheriff Marroquin, who escorted me outside the building, again forgetting the monitor requirement. Or perhaps, I don't any longer have this requirement, since I was not at the bail hearing, I do not know.

In any case, I was able to have Vietnamese cuisine tonight, and brought home a snack for later. I am sitting on my leg, pain free. And I have more to write about tonight.

I will say, I had given thought today how long this whole thing would be; and I also saw Arnie again. I was right to say he works in warrents. He was wearing the uniform today with the handcuffs, and weaponry. On the left breast read, "warrents". Very good and professional looking today, and enjoyed a conversation while I was being photographed for the file.

Hospital Revisit; And Penance
